Om Mural
Softwaren giver mulighed for at løfte teamsamarbejdet til et højere niveau med et intuitivt digitalt whiteboard, designet så teams kan udføre deres bedste arbejde sammen.
It’s an intuitively designed easy to use virtual whiteboarding tool that comes with templates that you can use for exercises that you might want to run.
Sometimes the web visualization gets stuck or shows blank boards where they should have content, but a quick page refresh generally fixes it.

Mural is the tool that allows you to interact with people from different cultures and ways of thinking/acting.
Fordele:
Mural is the tool that allows you to express yourself and what you want to communicate, adapting to your needs and those of others. It is not just a tool, but an important means of synchronous and asynchronous interaction and communication. It can be used both for personal reasons (organising trips, activities, book reviews, study notes) and for professional reasons in teams and to support entire organisations.
Ulemper:
I really appreciate how user friendly it is and full of templates you can use and customize for any need. Also great is the customer care and IT support.
Extremely intuitive tool for collaborative sessions between hybrid teams
Kommentarer: I love everything about this product. In this new era of Hybrid work model and distributed teams across the globe, Mural provides an efficient way to whiteboard, brainstorm and creatively collaborate in an effective manner. I highly recommend this tool for design sessions, sprint planning, product ideation or project management.
Fordele:
My project team started using Mural in last 2 years and it has been remarkably easy to collaborate and brainstorm with the hybrid teams. As a Product owner, the best feature about Mural is the availability of vast collection of templates. It saves a lot of time by picking up a pre-made template and refine it for your meeting/session. Additionally, its UI is super intuitive and easy to use, even for the business users, who are not as technically savvy as your design team members.Mural helps in organizing the complex ideas and concepts. It is extremely easy to share it with team members or clients for approvals.
Ulemper:
One thing I don't enjoy about Mural is its mobile experience. It is not very intuitive as compared to desktop experience. Its easier to learn the basic features of Mural, in order to contribute or participate in a meeting. however, if you want to use Mural to its full capacity, you will need to learn the complex features via some sort of training/learning material.
Perfect platform for design work sessions!
Kommentarer: Solving design work sessions and visually organizing projects.
Fordele:
I'm a designer and given our agency is now WFH, we are all really missing our work sessions, locked in a room looking at a whiteboard, sketching, taping, etc. Mural has let us do that now digitally! Thank goodness! When one of my designers need me to review something, we set up a mural and I can sketch over their designs or leave post-it notes, plug in images for inspiration, anything. It's been such a game changer for agencies and designers.
Ulemper:
I wish you could expand the artboards more or even have the option to do multiple artboards! There are times when we have huge projects that go on for months and we run out of room. Would love to have that be more flexible!
Mural review
Fordele:
Easy and user-friendly interface with multiple features for collaboration, demos and workshops. Mural allows to visualize and share ideas with team members.
Ulemper:
I didn't have any problems with Mural. All is good.
Excellent tool for ideation and collaborative processes
Kommentarer: At the top of the tools that I use for collaborative process. I compare with other tools as Miro and Lucidchart and Mural is the best for far.
Fordele:
The tool includes many functionalities to share ideas and customize boards for almost any king of collaborative process (Design Thinking, Agile Ceremonies, Kanban boards, etc).
Ulemper:
Maybe simplicity of the tools, when you are using the tool for a long time and get familirez with it, you going to need some strongest functionalities ir order to cover more ideas that come to you during the creation of boards.
Mural is the corporate version of Miro, it feels sluggish and uninspiring
Kommentarer: It's for online collaboration mostly.
Fordele:
It does what it says on the tin. You can still manage your way around in the app, it's just that it doesn't inspire much in the way Miro does. Templates are unappealing, fonts are unappealing and it takes effort to adjust everything to your own liking, more than it should.
Ulemper:
I just really miss using Miro to be honest. Mural has everything Miro has, but in a lesser form. It's like Powerpoint vs Keynote. Powerpoint definitely will get the job done but if you want to have more control or use advanced features you will want to use Keynote. As a designer I miss that in Mural. In that same fashion, Mural also allows you to have more administrative rights over others, just like Powerpoint can force you to use company templates in limited ways.
Excellent planning tool - a bit challenging online collaboration
Kommentarer: Overall, the sessions we have used Mural were very productive and in some cases we were provided with insight (from the guides) that would not be part of our original options. This is an excellent feature that elevates our performance.
Fordele:
1. Many templates and guides to use out of the box - excellent! 2. A team can be introduced / onboarded easily, especially with the self-explanatory guides
Ulemper:
1. The app is heavy for online collaboration when there is an issue with limited bandwidth for example
Overvejede alternativer:
Good, can be hard to access at the beginning
Kommentarer: I use it for workshop facilitation
Fordele:
Best feature is the outline function which allows you to create steps into the MURAL
Ulemper:
Commands are not intuitive Sticky notes are always the same size shapes can be a bit unflexible
Couldn't work without it
Kommentarer: I couldn't imagine my remote work without it. It truly enables everyone to have a voice and contribute in a meaningful way. I feel like becoming an expert user has transformed my daily work and my contribution to my team. It's seen as a valued skill that has supported my growth.
Fordele:
I like the flexibility of the tool to manage my own work, collaborate, or facilitate workshops / sessions. The tool is always evolving and I enjoy trying expanded features and how easy it is to support onboarding others.
Ulemper:
I wish Mural would pass 508 accessibility standards so that I could make a better case for adoption across my organization in the federal sector.
Mural is great for idea generation and share
Fordele:
I do a lot of idea generation for patenting purposes. This requires sharing of data and good note taking tool. Mural is really helpful as a blank whiteboard to start on an idea from scratch. the real-time updated from the users makes it really useful to use it during an online group call.
Ulemper:
Sometimes I have to zoom in quite a bit to look at some of the documents we worked on. It's more like Prezi presentation tool. It give me a headache from time to time.
A worse version of miro
Fordele:
the icons (seems like a noun project integration) and the ability to select any color for stickies
Ulemper:
it's not always so intuitive and the white boarding doesn't feel infinite
Great for team building activities
Fordele:
Helps remotely collaborate and conduct activities for team building. Also helps refer back in the future.
Ulemper:
Board becomes tricky to handle when lots of things are added.
High efficiency in collecting and arranging members' ideas in an organized manner
Kommentarer: Mural helped us a lot by taking advantage of the time of remote meetings and achieving the desired goals, so that we can collect ideas directly from the participants and integrate them into a clear, arranged and agreed upon scheme.
Fordele:
Mural is one of the best whiteboards, as it is responsive, so we can participate remotely to complete the scheme that we are working on preparing very smoothly. I greatly appreciate the ready-made templates that Mural provides, as they give us advanced resources and ideas that help us be creative by implementing what we need during the brainstorming stage, or when planning work programs. I really appreciate the many formatting options and also the colors that we can add to the text boxes and the different shapes. It's great how Mural can see the edits that a member has made, and also how we can vote whether or not to approve them.
Ulemper:
Not many negatives, as the Mural interface is very intuitive and easy to use, but since the members involved in preparing a chart do not have the same ability to format shapes and texts as required, this leads to double effort when formatting the agreed chart in its final form.
A magical whiteboard to collect and arrange ideas and find appropriate solutions
Kommentarer: MURAL has enabled us to keep meetings open and untimed, it has also enabled us to ensure the participation of all team members and also their approval of the proposed schemes, no matter where they are located. Brainstorming schemes helped us to collect ideas and arrange them in a distinctive way, and this helped a lot in understanding the needs and always finding appropriate solutions.
Fordele:
MURAL helps team members stay connected and collaborate to stay on schedule. The MURAL whiteboard is great for brainstorming and arranging interactive sessions. I adore using emojis, shapes, and colors to develop a workflow model or collect team members' opinions and perceptions on a topic for third-party sharing. I like how MURAL lets us prepare Proto-Personas, Prioritize, and Experience Map with team members. It's expressive, accurate, and describes our issue well. I like MURAL's ability to organize cards into categories and assign cards to team members so everyone is on the same page. I like that MURAL has an intuitive interface that everyone can adopt to quickly, and the presence of several ready-made templates helps prepare the proper form for the topic we're discussing. I particularly like that final renderings may be exported as an image or PDF file for simple distribution.
Ulemper:
In all honesty, it's not about finding something you might hate with MURAL, as it's like a magical drawing tablet that enables everyone to share and collaborate in all circumstances and with ease.
The perfect place to make sense of your mind
Kommentarer: Overall, mural is my go-to for sense making - both of my own thoughts and those of a group. Its a perfect, no frills, low-risk way to get ideas down on paper and analyze, refine, synthesize. It moves my work forward tremendously. For people who are visual or external processors like myself - it's an excellent tool to facilitate these processes.
Fordele:
I love that mural gives me the tools to dump my ideas into one place and sort them. They offer great templates that give me a way to get started without being intimidated, and I love that I can invite coworkers in this space to see my thinking and to document their thinking there as well. Great springboard for conversations.
Ulemper:
Sometimes I get a bit confused with the level of zoom and the amount of space available. I sometimes feel like my level of zoom and the sizing of the post its is not calibrated. it's hard to know how much to zoom in so that I can still read what's on sticky notes while still seeing the surrounding ones.
Very helpful collaboration tool
Fordele:
I love how Mural helps the team make simultaneous comments, its versatility in using as an idea board; its ability to help us map an entire process as a flow chart and then manipulate the diagram according to our needs. I also love the sharing aspect as it becomes a way for us to communicate as if we're all in the same room.
Ulemper:
Navigating a large mural in terms of the sizing bar can be tedious. I often have to enlarge and then reduce the size in order to zone in on a particular section and see it clearly.
A must have for remote work!
Kommentarer: We use mural all the time. We use it to create timelines for projects, to lead design sessions, to discuss evaluations, and to visualize our work very often. We have created our own templates for activities that we use for project managing and design thinking often. Our team loves it, and we are a huge advocate of using it, specially if you work with a team that is remote.
Fordele:
Mural is awesome! The thing I love the most about mural is that it allows os to visualized our work and projects in a virtual space, and many people can access it and work from it at the same time.
Ulemper:
It was hard to learn at first. If you are trying to get a team on board with using Mural, or a new member of the team, it can be very challenging to get them to learn. Specially if you are asking them to lead a full design session or activities that need to take place on the Mural. It takes time to get used to it.
Digital-first collaboration
Kommentarer: MURAL brings the whiteboard and the design studio wall online so that I can collaborate with clients and colleagues around the world. Now my entire workflow is in a digital medium, so I can a lot of efficiency that way.
Fordele:
I love that I can send anyone a link to a MURAL board and within 5 minutes they're totally comfortable using it. Yet beyond its simple on-boarding experience is a lot of flexibility that supports a wide variety of use cases.
Ulemper:
There are some small interaction details reduce elegance: I'm not crazy about how its arrows/lines connect to notes/shapes. And it's hard to have a consistent typographic hierarchy, because text scales with shapes, and there's no other way to control type size.
My Mural Experience
Kommentarer: It's quite effective for our live training sessions, meetings and team bonding activities.
Fordele:
The ability to summon members during sessions, use existing templates, scheduled timing per sessions and most of all collaborating with zoom and MS teams makes the my number one app.
Ulemper:
I find it difficult to use it when my internet is poor. Though I believe it's like that with other apps.
Amazing tool for arranging complex info
Kommentarer: This is a foundational tool for us for capturing any postit note exercise or workshop session.
Fordele:
This tool allows teams to take the complicated, organically generated, unsorted data that can come out of brainstorming or workshops and arrange it into something meaningful. It creates a standard language for teams to express this info. It's quick to learn and easy to use, and allows for the right type of expression for any info set.
Ulemper:
Administrating a team could be done better. It's too easy to invite more team members than your plan pays for. This is because the button to share a mural to an email address (which adds a team member) is easier to get to than the link to share anonymously. Fortunately there is a 30 day grace period for these mistakes.
Mural - Think together from anywhere in the world
Kommentarer: We have used Mural for some important brand planning that involved many cross functional teams - having everybody be looking at the same content and collaborating in live time was so much more efficient that having to hold 5 or 6 separate brainstorms with each team.
Fordele:
Really easy to pick up this tool and use it broadly with client teams, doesn't require app download which is great as some companies have app restrictions. Easy navigation that even non tech-savy people could quickly adapt too
Ulemper:
Can be difficult to use on a tablet - not as intuitive
Mural is a must have if you are a product Manager/ designer
Kommentarer: It’s a brilliant tool. There hasn’t been an experience with mural that has not gone well. Must have !
Fordele:
Mural is indeed collaborative ! The fact that you can see what the other person around the world is doing, without sharing screen, is amazing ! Mural is that digital whiteboard with free stickies where you could do anything ! And it comes with so many templates !!
Ulemper:
We cannot talk via mural . I’d need another software or tool to do that! Imagine Mural + slack in one !
Great collaboration space
Kommentarer: I had a great time with Mural. We initially started using it during the first Covid lockdown. Frankly it was implemented well enough that I didn't really miss Whiteboards. Now it feels to have fallen behind Miro a little in terms of updates/features but my perception there may just be coloured by the frequency with which I use Miro.
Fordele:
Great UI and fantastically approachable. What made Mural special was the huge amount of templates.
Ulemper:
Occasionally slow to respond. Management of multiple boards was sometimes clunky.
making virtual collaboration more collaborative
Kommentarer: I work remotely 75% of the time. Mural enables me to continue hands on collaboration, building alignment with my virtual team members almost as effectively as if we were in person. This has changed the way I collaborate virtually. Now, I cannot work without out!
Fordele:
Ease of use - almost like having a real whiteboard in the room, easy to access by non-members
Ulemper:
Like any software, getting people unfamiliar with it to be comfortable collaborating can take some effort.
Makes Online Meetings More Effective
Kommentarer: Before Mural, longer online workshops were not effective. Many attendees were losing their focus and the meetings were transforming into inefficient gathering activities. With Mural, we keep all attendees alive and interactive. You can reach working canvas where ever you are and especially voting feature makes easier to get mutual decisions in a democratic environment.
Fordele:
It allows all participants to work together and collaboratively at the same time. It is easy to use
Ulemper:
I would like to have more templates to use. An open library would be beneficial to adopt this software easier.
